I researched composters for ages before deciding on the Green Johanna. It has solved all the problems I’ve had with previous composters. It was easy to put together, and is is very sturdy. The solid base and locking lid make it about as rodent proof as is realistic. The large top opening makes filling ,layering and a bit of stirring really easy. It has plenty of room to compost all our food waste and a fair bit of household paper and packaging. I haven’t tested it through the Maine winter yet, but I’m confident it will still do its job. Best of all It doesn’t smell at all and harbors only a few fruit flies. I’m very happy with this purchase, and received excellent service from Tar River Trading.
